We process personal data collected during visits to our website in compliance with the currently valid provisions of data protection law. We neither publish nor disclose your data to unauthorized third parties.

In the following section, we explain which data we record when you visit one of our websites, and exactly how they are utilized:

A.    General information

1.    Scope of data processing

We collect and use personal data only to the extent necessary for providing a functional website, as well as our content and services. The collection and utilization of personal data from our users are regularly carried out with their consent, except in cases where data processing is permitted by statutory provisions.

2.    Legal basis of data processing

When we obtain the data subject's consent for personal data processing, the legal basis is Article 6, para. 1, lit. a of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

If processing personal data is necessary for fulfilling a contract with the data subject, the legal basis is Article 6, para. 1, lit. b GDPR. This also applies to processing operations required for implementing pre-contractual measures.

3.    Data erasure and Storage Duration​

Personal data of the data subject is erased or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage no longer applies. Data is also blocked or erased when the retention period prescribed by the aforementioned legislation expires, unless the data needs to be stored for a longer period for concluding or performing a contract.​

B.    Website Provision 

Every time you access our website the following data is collected:

  • Your IP address

  • Date and time the page is accessed

  • Address of the accessed page

  • Address of the perviosly visited website (referrer)

  • Name and version of your browser/operating system (if transmitted)

Unless explicitly stated above in relation to the function, we generally process your personal data, which reaches us via the website, based on legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Where you have explicitly given consent, processing is based on this consent and Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a GDPR. If your contact is aimed at concluding a contract with us, the additional legal basis for processing is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b GDPR.

In the case of otherwise collecting your data, we will inform you specifically about the purpose, the legal basis, and the storage duration concerning the respective data collection in accordance with the requirements of Art. 13 GDPR.

The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer necessary to achieve the purpose of its collection. For data collected for website provision, this occurs when the session ends. However, data may be stored for a longer period if required by European or national legislation, EU directives, laws, or other provisions applicable to the MPG. Data may also be blocked or deleted when the retention period specified by the aforementioned legislation expires, unless the data needs to be retained for a longer period for the purpose of concluding or performing a contract.

C.   Use of cookies

Our website uses cookies, which are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. When you access our website, a cookie may be saved on your operating system, containing a unique string of characters that enables the browser to be identified when you revisit the website.We use cookies to enhance the user-friendliness of our website. Certain elements of our website require the browser to be recognized even after a page change. The following data is stored and transmitted via cookies:

  • Language settings (localization) of the browser: Session cookie i18next

  • Session data (click series, accessed pages, current language, and form error messages): Session cookie mpg_session_r

Both cookies are deleted when the session is closed.

The legal basis for processing personal data through cookies is Article 6, para. 1, lit. f of the GDPR and § 25 para. 2 no. 2 of the German Federal Data Protection Act (TTDSG). Some functions of our website rely on the use of cookies to ensure the proper functioning of the website and provide an enhanced user experience. The user data collected by technically required cookies is not used to create user profiles.

D.   Your Rights Regarding Your Personal Data

You have the right to request information from us at any time (Art. 15 GDPR) about the data stored with us about you, including recipients or categories of recipients to whom this data is disclosed, and the purpose of storage. You have the right to have your data corrected according to Art. 16 GDPR; as soon as we become aware of the incorrectness of personal data, these will be corrected. Furthermore, you have the right to deletion of your data according to Art. 17 GDPR, the right to restriction of processing according to Art. 18 GDPR, and the right to data portability from Art. 20 GDPR. The restrictions according to §§ 34 and 35 BDSG apply to the right to information and the right to deletion.

You can revoke any consent given for the processing of personal data at any time with effect for us.

In addition, there is – notwithstanding other administrative and judicial remedies – a right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
